When in Singapore...

Train at EVOLVE Mixed Martial Arts! What else are you going to do?!?

Landing in Singapore this week, it was easy to see how Evolve MMA came to be recognised as Asia's leading Mixed Martial Arts facility with the best of the best in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai and MMA all under one roof.

After a 9 hour flight, I decided to stretch my legs and go for a walk down past Evolve Far East Square to have a look. Not only is the facility amazing, but I was greeted at the door by Professional MMA fighter and Assistant Instructor Brian Choi who promptly took me for a tour which culminated at the BJJ mats where Almiro Barros and Alex Silva were teaching a class. Mad.

The other Evolve gym in Singapore at PoMo has only one mat space, but is home to most of the Fighter training Programs. Today's class was led by Rafael 'Gordinho' Correa de Lima, with Zoro Moreira and Leandro 'Brodinho' Issa assisting. All the other guys were there too, training for their upcoming fights in the ONE FC promotion - you can read more about it on the Evolve MMA blog. Just nuts - there are massive posters of these guys up all over the city, not that you would know from talking to them - they are a pretty humble and helpful lot!

More on my training at Evolve in the next couple of days...

To think I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find the gym...

Me and the big man...well almost - chick out my new Bodigard rashie!

The best way to rehydrate after hard training, fresh coconuts everywhere!
